My kids don’t have a packed schedule. They have lots of time for play, and they also know it’s not my job to entertain them when they are bored. Sometimes they read a book or take a nap, but other times they build the most amazing creations. This soccer stadium is one of the best yet.

How do you handle it when your kids tell you they are bored? Do you give them ideas of what to do or play with them?

Hi, I’m Robin 👋 I believe in buying less, buying better, and prioritizing experiences over stuff. And probably eating out more than my bank account would like 😆 Follow along as I document the messy, imperfect journey of buying less, living more and designing a life that feels fantastic.

Goody bags are so ingrained into our birthday planning norms, most parents buy cheap plastic fillers without thinking about it. You don’t need to give out goody bags. Most parties we go to these days don’t have them and the kids don’t miss them.

What are some of the best party favors you’ve received, the ones you remember—and hopefully still use—a year later? Let’s turn the comments into a resource for parents.

Comment PARTY for party favors that won’t end up@in the trash.

I still agree with my unpopular opinion. Save your money. Kids don’t care about bags of tiny toys. Ask them where something they received from a goody bag is. I bet they can’t tell you.
