Goody bags are so ingrained into our birthday planning norms, most parents buy cheap plastic fillers without thinking about it. You don’t need to give out goody bags. Most parties we go to these days don’t have them and the kids don’t miss them.

I still agree with my unpopular opinion. Save your money. Kids don’t care about bags of tiny toys. Ask them where something they received from a goody bag is. I bet they can’t tell you.

As a former Prime Day fan, I encourage you to shop with intention today, not just because it’s on “sale.” 

Before you “add to cart,” ask yourself these questions to see if the item is a need vs want, and if it’s really a deal. If the answer is no, then maybe don’t add to cart and think of all the money you saved.

Amazon’s pricing changes daily. I’ve noticed items being marked up right before a sale. If you want to know the price history of an item, if it really is on sale, check CamelCamelCamel.com or the Keepa app. 

Don’t be swayed by the hype around Prime Day. Everything will still be there when you need it.
